Anja Grace Schipper

Anja Grace Schipper was born on May 22nd at 7:49pm. Mark must have said "Anja come out and play" one too many times, as she did come out and play - a month early. But she is strong, weighing in at 6 lbs 4 oz and 20.5 inches long.

We wanted to share a few photos of Anja (the "j" is pronounced like a "y") in her first days. The first two are within the first hour. The last picture is Anja in her car seat setting out for her first visit to the pediatrician, who sent her back to the hospital for another test. Because Anja was a bit early, she has developed a bit of jaundice- but a little sunshine and a lot of TLC is pulling her through. We are getting a little tired of billirubin tests and I am certain those heel sticks are no fun for Anja. The upside is, she does not cry at all- for now. How many babies do you have to set the alarm for to ensure they eat?

Pip is curious about his new playmate and seems to be adjusting well.

She just looks so tiny.
